Great Nature Classics
Blue Poppy is proud to offer Great Nature Classics, the most highly concentrated, thoroughly-tested line of classical Chinese formulas available and the best value for you and your patients.
ALL GREAT NATURE CLASSIC CHINESE FORMULAS ARE:
•Extracted and tableted at a facility that meets FDA cGMP standards, the most rigorous quality standards in the herbal industry. •All herbal ingredients are screened for identity and quality by a Chinese herbal specialist. For additional assurance, if necessary after the organoleptic test, the herbs are also identity tested using TLC. •Manufactured using traditional hot water extraction coupled with essential-oil recapturing for maximum potency of the finished product. •3rd party testing is done on every batch for pesticides, microbiological contaminants, heavy metals, and other contaminants. All testing results are available upon request. •7:1 concentration ratio in a densely packed 750mg tablet provides stronger dosing in fewer tablets than capsules or teapills. •A comprehensive selection including many familiar formulas as well as traditional formulas that are lesser-known to US clinicians but very popular among practitioners in China.
Dosing for all Great Nature Classics is 3 tablets 2 times per day.
This formula comes from Zhang Zhong-jing’s late Han dynasty Shang Han Lun (Treatise on Damage [Due to] Cold). Our version is a 7:1 concentrated extract in a 750mg caplet.
Actions, Out-thrusts depression, soothes the liver, and regulates the spleen. Pattern, Liver-spleen disharmony. Chinese name, Si Ni San.
Note that the formula Si Ni San is very different than the formula SI NI TANG. This is because the symptom of cold hands and feet (frigid extremities) can have several distinct causes, implying totally different treatments. One common cause of these symptoms is a tightening of the Qi of the chest, which constrains the flow of Qi and Blood to the arms and hands. This is called Liver Qi Stagnation. It is addressed by this formula, SI NI SAN (frigid extremities POWDER). Another cause of cold hands is internal cold, and is addressed by the formula SI NI TANG (frigid extremities DECOCTION).
